| HOW TO CURE YOUR WANDERLUST IN A LOCKDOWN |

Hello from England and Lockdown 3.0. As we enter another week of the Stay of Home order you're probably, like me, missing travel (even down the road.) Whilst staying at home all day every day there is enough time to do many things - learn a new skill, binge watch netflix or even start a blog, well hello there! At this point normality feels like a long long way off but one thing that lockdown doesn't cure is good ol' hardy dose of wanderlust. You can't beat it but you can try to feed it a little. A few ideas on how to tame the beast....

PLAN YOUR NEXT TRIP

We may not know when it will be, but your next trip WILL come eventually so why not use your time to plan it extensively? I've spent countless hours trawling through other blogger's or instagrammers' itineries and bookmarked so many ideas and locations i want to visit. I've made a trip outline, looked at trains and bus routes, looked at local sights and wrote down everything i want to see and do.You can fill so much time on this one, next time you dream of being on a beach, open up your computer abd start planning.

☆ FINALLY GET ROUND TO MAKING A TRAVEL SCRAPBOOK

Confession: I have hoarding tendencies which means that whenever i go away i keep ticket stubs, bus schedules as well as so many photos for past travels i couldn't even begin to count. A while back i bought a scrapbook from Paperchase with the intention of FINALLY putting them all in a book rather than a carrier bag in my wardrobe and lockdown is the ideal time to dig them out, reminisce and fill in your travel journal to keep the memories alive. It doesn't have to be anything big, just something small to look back on in years to come.

 ☆ EXPLORE YOUR LOCAL AREA

Now we're back under a national lockdown, we've been told we can't get in the car but we CAN have our daily exercise allowance which means we can discover new things on our doorstep. I'm lucky i live on a road that leads right up to the countryside and farm land and in the first lockdown, i realised it was pretty easy to go find somewhere local with good views. Head to your local park, climb the hill you walk past everyday or walk the opposite direction to your normal route, you never know what you may find.

☆ MAKE YOUR FAVOURITE DISH OR DRINK

Big Daddy's BBQ in Fairbanks, Alaska - not the most fancy place for dinner but home to the best chicken and BBQ i've ever tasted. I'm sure we all have our favourite dishes or drinks from a foreign country we visited. During a trip to Italy i discovered an Aperol Spritz, and after a bottle from Santa i'm not able to recreate what will always be to me the taste of Verona in my living room.

☆ INSPIRE YOURSELF

Instagram or Pinterest are your best friends to find new destinations to add to your list of dream future travels. Make a Pinterest board and pin together all the elements of a perfect trip or trawl endlessly through instagram hashtags and discover other grammers' pictures you'll love to recreate.
